The Stingray has recently received a balance adjustment in Massive Warfare, and many players have been wondering why its movement speed decreased while its overall combat strength appears to have improved. Here’s a breakdown of what changed, why it matters, and how it could impact your matches going forward.
What Changed?
Based on internal simulation tools and in-game stats comparison, the Stingray experienced the following adjustments:
- Increased Fire Rate (Firespeed): Enhanced from 12.75 base to 13.25, reaching 15.75 at top!
- Reduced Movement Speed: Decreased from 77.7 max to 73.2
Why Was Movement Reduced?
Mati, our Lead developer, explained, the reduction in movement was intentional:
“We lowered movement so the system could balance things without breaking matchmaking. Speed was nerfed to give more versatility in kills.”
In simpler terms, the Stingray was “too efficient” at racking up kills without significant trade-offs. Lowering its movement stat makes it less dominant in high-speed skirmishes, especially in modes like Survival, while still allowing it to shine in head-on combat thanks to its boosted firepower.
Why the Buff to Fire Rate?
The key reason behind the increased fire rate is to enhance the Stingray’s lethality per second. With faster shooting:
- You get more kills in less time
- Internal tests showed lower deaths due to improved kill efficiency
- The Stingray becomes a top-tier pick for aggressive players who thrive on offense rather than speed
These changes are part of our ongoing effort to revitalize certain vehicles in the game. We’ve identified that even small stat adjustments can lead to meaningful improvements in gameplay. This is also part of our continued commitment to the community, We aim to bring monthly balance updates that push the game forward, alongside the introduction of exciting new features. Rather than just tweaking numbers, the dev team focuses on how those changes affect matchmaking, survivability, and kill potential in real gameplay scenarios.
So while you might feel a bit slower behind the wheel, rest assured: the new Stingray hits harder and faster than ever before, just the way a true war machine should.
